Drew’s Adepticon 2026 Bolt Action Recap
As promised a recap and photo dump of our Bolt Action game from AdeptiCon 2026. Our gaming club, Iron Dice Gaming decided to go very early war with this Bolt Action battle which we also played out with Chain of Command the next day – Battle of Hannut early war French vs. Germans. This was the largest tank battle the world had ever seen up to this point in history as the Germans rolled into Belgium and were challenged by a determined French defender. VMS Surface Primer Review
The folks over at Kick-Ass Mail Order (and fellow Iron Dice Gaming Authors) were nice enough to pass on their samples of VMS No-Peel Surface Primer for me to test out. Previously, I’ve been quite happy with VMS’s varnishes and their Pigment Jockey weathering pigments so when I heard these were coming to Kick-Ass I was curious to give them a try. Hold the Line – Siege of Bastogne
This year I ran “Hold the Line – Siege of Bastogne” – for Bolt Action with the 101st holding the line in the Ardennes. I based it mostly on the scenario from the Battle of the Bulge campaign book. I purposely left the board 4×4 instead of 6×4 and fully covered in woods to really bring home the feeling of lack of visibility and confinement being in the frozen forest.
