Drew’s Adepticon 2026 Bolt Action Recap

As promised a recap and photo dump of our Bolt Action game from AdeptiCon 2026. Our gaming club, Iron Dice Gaming decided to go very early war with this Bolt Action battle which we also played out with Chain of Command the next day – Battle of Hannut early war French vs. Germans. This was the largest tank battle the world had ever seen up to this point in history as the Germans rolled into Belgium and were challenged by a determined French defender. Hold the Line – Siege of Bastogne

This year I ran “Hold the Line – Siege of Bastogne” – for Bolt Action with the 101st holding the line in the Ardennes. I based it mostly on the scenario from the Battle of the Bulge campaign book. I purposely left the board 4×4 instead of 6×4 and fully covered in woods to really bring home the feeling of lack of visibility and confinement being in the frozen forest. Fending Off the Vikings – Drew’s First Game of Pillage

A couple weeks back my buddy Doak and I tried out Victrix’s new skirmish game Pillage. I had played Saga before and its okay, but the board mechanics get a little too gamey for me sometimes and I feel the game swings way in the favor of anyone familiar with their army/ boards. I will continue to play it since I bought everything for it, but it’s a different experience. I tried Raven’s Feast. Solid game, but a little too rules lite… So now it was on to Pillage.
