This scenario is in the Battlegroup Kursk book, and is geared towards a demo/learning game of Battlegroup. It’s a Squad sized game, so relatively quick. This is played in 15mm, on a 4×6 table. I’ve matched the table the best I could, along with the army lists. The minor change I’ve made is a Soviet T-60 instead of T-70, as I didn’t have a T-70 painted. The stowage lets you tell a story about the vehicle and it’s crew, but the weathering helps show where it is, where it’s been, and what it’s been through. TURN 4: USMC USMC rolls up only 7 orders, not ideal. Will have to make some hard decisions on what units to activate. Fwd observer passes comms check, calls in spotting round. Turn 2: USMC USMC rolls up 13 orders, which is plenty, and starts out with an off table medium mortar barrage. Forward Observer passes comms check, calls in mortars at the crossroads, deviates 10″ but still in a very good spot. Proceeds with the mortar strike. Direct hits on the light howitzer and LMG squads. This is a platoon sized BG game, roughly 460pts or 28BR for each side. The infantry platoon is the core of both forces with assorted support elements. Table is a standard 4x6ft, with 15mm miniatures.
